Robin Hood's Bay Museum

Fisherhead

Image of Robin Hoods Bay Museum

Visit this unique local Museum and Mortuary! Run entirely by volunteers, the Museum is a Registered Charity. Number: 510254.

Displays include fishing, shipping, local history and geology. Details of the many shipwrecks and historic rescues in the Bay are recorded and there is a unique model of a smuggler's house showing how contraband could be concealed! A life size model of a local fisherwife has many surprises up her sleeve.

Location & Access

The Museum is situated on Fisherhead on the south side of the village. The building can only be approached via narrow cobbled pathways and steps.

Opening

Open mainly school holidays and half terms except on Saturdays.

Group and School party visits

Due to the small size of the building, groups and school parties are welcome outside normal opening hours throughout the year by prior arrangement.

Charges

Entry free but donations most welcome.
