Heather Gatt

Heather Gatt's batik paintings can be seen at The Forge Gallery in Robin Hood's Bay, The Grosmont Gallery at Grosmont, near Whitby and in Helmsley, at the Look Gallery. Heather lives in Robin Hood's Bay and often finds inspiration in the beach and old cottages and cobbled streets. She tries to capture the quality of light in her paintings.

Each batik is a one off piece that takes several weeks to make, using wax resist, dyes and cotton cloth. Heather has been an artist working in batik for 25 years and her batiks have been exhibited in the UK and abroad. In 2005 she is exhibiting at the World Batik Conference in Boston USA.
