Steven Husband
Born and raised in Teeside attending Cleveland School Art and Design after school, then The Byam Shaw School of Art in London where he completed a Fine Art Degree, specialising in painting and drawing. He continued to work in London until 1990, when, after getting married moved to North Wales where he began teaching Art at St David’s School.
He continued to paint from life and nature, and exhibited in a number of mixed shows until 1993 when he and his wife Sarah moved to North Yorkshire where they still live and work.
Steven now runs Fyling Hall School Art department and after having two one man shows in London, the first in 1992 and the second in 1996 he took some time out from painting to concentrate on his family. He has recently taken up painting again and has another London show lined up for summer 2006.
On his work he feels there is little if nothing to say that the work does not already say in its own medium, “To try and put onto canvas the many and varying sensations one feels in front of nature is a permanent and constant struggle, one of which I guess I am strangely addicted.”
