Bobby Footsteps

image of boby footseps“We are a ska/punk band from Whitby/Robin Hood‘s Bay. It all started 2 years ago in 2002 with Jack on guitar and Will on drums along with a guy called Rich on bass in a small band that they named "Vertigo". Tuck was brought in later as the singer but unfortunately at that point Rich decided that he didn't like punk music, so plans for a band were put on hold as he left. Not too long after Rich's departure from said "Vertigo", Rob H was round at Will's house and he was told about the band with Tuck suggesting that Rob could learn bass - he did. Following a useless performance at the Rifle Club Will’s older brother Jack suggested we rename ourselves Booby Footsteps. More gigs followed at Eskdale discos, assemblies and concerts… our confidence grew and more songs were learnt. In June 2003 we entered Eskdales' "Battle of The Bands". We won ! Good performances followed including one at Alex McCormack's 18th birthday party giving us more support from older bands and gig goers.

In early 2004, Harry Pinder joined the band with his cornet as we realised we fancied a bit of brass which you can hear in Opportunity Cost. His second live performance in "BF" was at The Rifle Club, Whitby in February 2003, it was also our third performance there but this time we were more positive about playing, we were treated to a great crowd that skanked on all through our set and we played how we knew we could, well. Third time lucky we suppose… just after that we did some recording and got a good review at www.6kvision.co.uk … check it out.

Matt Anderson has just joined our band and a few songs have been made already and he has settled in amazingly quickly as a second guitarist and is set to make his first showing at our fourth Rifle Club experience“. www.bobbyfootsteps.co.uk
