Martin Wolverson FRBS, FRSA

Martin was born in Wolverhampton in 1939. He played the piano from the age of 11, and at the age of 14 played for the Bette Guest School of Dance in the West Midlands as a rehearsal and show accompanist. He worked in many clubs accompanying variety artists to pay his way thorugh Art College. He also played in Jazz groups in the days before ‘Rock’. Martin gave up music in his twenties to focus on the visual arts notably as a sculptor and this was his profession along with teaching art until the 1990’s when he was invited to work at Jazz workshops with students at Caedmon School. Since that time he has played in many concerts in Whitby and Scarborough.
