We are closed on a Thursday night to allow for a deep clean and change of air - so guests leave by 11am on Thursday morning and the next guests arrive from 3pm Friday. We have professional cleaners who follow all the COVID guidelines.
We are sorry to have removed some ornaments, DVDs, board games and tourist leaflet information - however this is to keep our guests as safe as possible.
We have 2 sets of duvets and pillows - which will be changed after each visit. Pillow and mattress protection covers will be washed and replaced after each visit.
N.B. The Chalet is in a large, open courtyard area. Our house is in the same courtyard, where we also park, however there is plenty of space to keep social distancing.
The Chalet is well equipped to self-cater with a 4 ring hob, microwave, kettle and toaster (no oven) and a range of pots and pans. It has an iron and ironing board. Plus if you find The Chalet needs something else, then just ask and I'll see if I can fulfil a request, within reason!
All bedding, towels and hot drink supplies are provided - tea coffee, decaf coffee, selection of fruit teas, drinking chocolate, small UHT milks, salt, pepper, vinegar. Plus a hairdrier, shower gel, shampoo, soap etc.
There is a TV, DVD player, CD/tape player. The Chalet has a selection of DVDs, including some showing the local area. Plus some CDs, old tapes, books, Board games, playing cards and jigsaw if you fancy a night in.... Free wifi.
There is plenty of space to sit outside and enjoy the views.... with a glimpse of the sea and beach. As The Chalet is at the top of the hill, it enjoys having the evening sunshine for a longer time than lower down nearer the sea. The Grosvenor Hotel, just 5 minutes away, seems to capture even more evening sun!
GUEST ACCESS AND PARKING
The Chalet is self-contained so guests have the entire Chalet for their use. There is a key lock box.
Secure, free parking is just outside The Chalet, in the large courtyard, with access through electric gates. Parking with accommodation is a real plus in this part of Yorkshire. Old 'Bay' has very little parking which helps to make it so special and quaint, however it often means a hike to and from a car. Plus usually paying for parking.
At The Chalet you can just pull up outside the door and unload / load your car. However you do need to walk a maximum of 15 minutes to get down to the beach!
Check in is from 3p.m. and departure by 11a.m. Guests are more than welcome to arrive earlier on the first day and park up until check in time - and to leave their car til later in the day after check out, whilst spending time locally. You just need to let us know.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
N.B. There can very occasionally be some intermittent noise from a business on the adjacent property. This could be early in the morning and sometimes at a weekend. Or no noise at all! We would love nothing more than to guarantee peace and quiet, however our neighbour needs to make a living and has to react to the demands of his business.
It is usually extremely quiet through the night and on a clear night the star gazing is brilliant!
So if you'd like a cosy, comfy Chalet and are prepared to cope with the possibility of some noise, then we would love to have you stay. (See our reviews on Airbnb)
We have a well behaved Lurcher who may be curious and bark when she first meets folks. She loves to be stroked so is best ignored if folks don't like dogs.
