The Grange Fylingthorpe , Robin Hoods Bay is located on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors approximately 500 metres from Robin Hoods Bay and 5 miles from Whitby. The Grange is a large Victorian Villa built in about 1876. This superb house is steeped in local history being designed by a local church architect John Rickinson. With its stunning views of the sea, the moors and to Ravenscar it certainly does not disappoint. There are still many original features in the house including open fires, ornate wood paneling , leather embossed doors and tiled floors.
Only opened in August of 2014, this bed and breakfast will not disappoint.
The property has beautifully landscaped gardens that include mature trees, many plants and flowers and a large natural koi pond.
The Grange Suite
Located on the first floor in a totally private wing of the house. This beautiful suite comprises of a large master bedroom with either a super king size bed or twin beds to meet guests requirements, with commanding views to the sea, Robin Hoods Bay, Ravenscar and the Moors.This room has a large flat screen TV. It also has its own private lounge( see rates ), which can be arranged to meet guests requirements and is able to accommodate a further guest. This room has wonderful views to the Moors. The suite benefits from a super large private bathroom, with bath, a separate shower cubicle and twin basins. This suite can be booked for either 2 or 3 persons, please see rates below.
The Cottage Suite
Located in a separate annex to the main house is the Cottage Suite. It has a ground floor bedroom with large shower room . From this room a beautiful spiral staircase leads you to a private lounge on the second floor with stunning un-interrupted views to Ravenscar and the Bay. It has tea and coffee making facilities plus a tv.The suite is private from the main house and is furnished to a high standard with antique furniture.
The Garden Room
Located on the first floor, this large double room has stunning views over the beautiful gardens and to the sea beyond, Robin Hoods Bay, and Ravenscar. It has its own private bathroom/shower room where you can enjoy a soak overlooking the sea. This room has a flat screen tv .
The Ravenscar Room
Situated on the second floor of the house this super large, bright and airy room overlooks the sea and the Moors. This room is only available as a twin room . It also has its own private bathroom, where guests can relax and enjoy the far reaching views to Ravenscar. It has a flat screen TV.
All rooms have a hospitality tray, with tea and coffee making facilities, a hair dryer and toiletries.
All rooms are tastefully decorated and are an ideal place to relax and enjoy the truly stunning uninterupted views.
Breakfast is served in the sun room overlooking the gardens and the sea, or al fresco on the large covered terrace weather permitting. This is served from 7.30 am until 9 am

Unfortunately, we do not accept children under the age of 12, and we have no provisions for dogs.
The Grange offers a friendly, luxury break with truly stunning views from every room of either the sea, the moors or both ! It has recently undertaken a lot of restoration and renovation work by its current owners Malcolm and Paul.
The Grange guests benefit from free wifi , free car parking and secure motorbike/ bike garaging.
The village has a shop plus a public house only 2 minute walk away. It is only a 10 minute walk into Robin Hoods Bay. Here there is a Post Office/Shop with a cash point and many other shops, tea rooms, restaurants and public houses.
